Tuna and Pho: Darting Light

Pho and Tuna: their names drawn from Phos, “light,” and Tuna, “darting”-- together they form “darting light,” like a rainbow.

They carry that symbolism in form as well as name. Lavender and pink, beginning and end of a pastel rainbow.

Pho is a magician. Tuna, his familiar. They are reflections, but not mirrors, two ways of sensing the world.

Tuna, a moth-cat with no eyes, reads the world through vibration and feeling. She’s excitable, strangely wise, and always drawn to what others miss.

Pho, wide-eyed and quiet, sees with precision but not always clarity. He feels more like a placeholder than a person.

Not opposites. Complements, like phases of the moon-- parts of the same whole, always in orbit
